Prominent stem cell scientist Peter Coffey from University College London will join UCSB as Director of the Center for the Study of Macular Degeneration and a member of the Center for Stem Cell Biology and Engineering. Dr. Coffey, who is a recipient of a CIRM Leadership Award, is world renowned for his work in developing cellular therapies for ocular disease.
